CI Financial Corp. announces new debenture financing

TORONTO, July 18, 2018 /CNW/ - CI Financial Corp. ("CI") announced today that it has entered into an agreement to sell debt securities with an aggregate principal amount of $325 million. The debt securities have a term of 5 years and carry an interest rate of 3.520% payable semi-annually.

The debentures have a provisional rating of BBB+ by Standard & Poor's and an A (low) rating, under review with negative implications, by DBRS.

The offering is being made under CI's previously filed base shelf prospectus dated December 22, 2017, and is being led by CIBC Capital Markets and National Bank Financial Markets. CI intends to use the net proceeds from the sale of debentures to repay outstanding indebtedness under its Credit Facility.

The closing of the offering is scheduled for July 20, 2018 and is subject to certain customary conditions.
