Update on CI Investments’ Pandemic Response

At CI Investments, we are committed to supporting you through this difficult time and we extend our heartfelt wishes to all of our clients and business partners for your good health and safety.

CI has seamlessly transitioned to this new environment and all aspects of our business continue to operate. You can continue to invest, make withdrawals and get account information, and our portfolio managers have the resources they need to manage your investments capably and appropriately in today’s market environment.

CI was prepared with a robust pandemic response plan – which we began implementing in February – that allowed us to move quickly to protect the health of our employees, clients and business partners while continuing to operate our company. More than 95% of our employees are working remotely, with technology that allows them to perform their duties effectively and collaboratively. For those staff who must be present at our offices, we have taken additional steps to support them and assist them in maintaining social distancing.

Portfolio management

CI has equipped its investment teams with top-rated technology, allowing them to access information and research, buy and sell securities, interview corporate management teams, and take any other steps necessary to manage their portfolios while working remotely. This technology also allows our portfolio managers, analysts and traders to maintain the team dynamic that is so important. 

In the face of these unprecedented events and the market volatility driven by the COVID-19 pandemic, our portfolio managers remain focused on achieving the best possible results for investors. To help keep you up to date on your investments, our portfolio management teams are providing regular commentary on financial markets and how they are positioning their portfolios. Managing your accounts

CI continues to process all transactions in a timely manner in co-operation with advisors, dealers and other business partners. We have adopted a number of electronic services to facilitate operations at this time, including the use of e-signatures and electronic funds transfers.

You can access account information any time at InvestorOnline, which allows you to view account balances, transaction history, statements, tax documents and trade confirmations. If you have not registered for InvestorOnline, you may do so by contacting Client Services. (Please note you will require your CI account number, the last four digits of your social insurance number and your Web Login ID, which can be found on the last mailed copy of your statement.)

As the pandemic develops, CI continues to monitor and respond to developments in Canada and globally and the actions and recommendations of governments, health authorities and other institutions. We will provide further updates as necessary.
