About Us

Established in 2007, Cambridge Global Asset Management (“Cambridge”) is a leading investment management group with in-house expertise in equity, balanced and fixed-income mandates. Cambridge seeks to continually earn clients’ trust by exemplifying the highest standards of the wealth management industry and by investing clients’ money as it does for its own staff and their families. With approximately $20 billion in assets under management (as at March 31, 2019) , we distribute our investment services through multiple distribution channels to both retail and institutional investors.

In 2011, Portfolio Managers Brandon Snow, Bob Swanson, Greg Dean and Stephen Groff joined Cambridge as Principals, and we have continued to add depth and breadth to our team of over 17 investment professionals with offices in Toronto and Boston.

Cambridge has a broad mission focused on building wealth for its clients through its fundamental approach to investing, which focuses on identifying value-creating businesses. As stewards of our clients’ capital, we seek to continually earn clients’ trust by not only adhering to the highest ethical standards of our industry but also aligning the interests of all stakeholders – clients, the companies we invest in and ourselves.

We believe the combination of true active management, a focus on downside risks and personal alignment creates an environment for investing that offers good downside protection against volatility in markets and the potential to deliver strong, long-term, risk-adjusted returns for our clients.

Cambridge Global Asset Management ("Cambridge") is a division of CI Investments. Certain funds associated with Cambridge are sub-advised by CI Global Investments Inc., a firm registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and an affiliate of
CI Investments Inc.

Our Philosophy

Cambridge’s investment process is driven by bottom-up, fundamental research with an emphasis on identifying companies that trade at a discount to their intrinsic value and a focus on risk mitigation to build wealth for retail and institutional clients.

Each pillar of our investment philosophy aims to deliver strong, long-term, risk-adjusted returns for clients and was conceived to help compound client wealth over the long term. Our investment philosophy dictates how the team operates and what we stand for, which we believe is our competitive edge against other global asset managers.

The three pillars of investment management at Cambridge are:

Fundamental Approach

  • Deep, bottom-up research process
  • Requires discipline, independent thought and a long-term perspective
  • Being benchmark-agnostic, which delivers differentiated portfolios

Value-creating Businesses

  • Identify durable business models
  • Pay the appropriate price for a business’s value-creation potential
  • Focus on identifying unique insights about companies

Ownership Mentality

  • Stewards of our clients’ capital
  • Seek the alignment of interests of all stakeholders
  • Co-investment alongside our clients
